Sun 7-8:30 pm Absolute & Relative Truth

Dear Friends,

There's been a change in our teaching schedule, and instead of Deb teaching this Sunday, it will be Rebecca.  Please see the sangha website for the rest of the Sangha schedule.

Buddha intended for the Eightfold Path to lead us to "seeing things as they truly are."  Contrary to pop belief, Buddhism doesn't hold that "it's all illusion."  But the way things truly are, according to Buddha, is very different than the world most people believe they inhabit.

This apparent dichotomy gave rise within a few centuries after Buddha's death to the idea of Two Truths.  On Sunday I'll talk about this idea of the Absolute and Relative and how it can help us live with (what can feel like) one foot in each.

I hope you'll bring a friend and join us.

Save the Date!  Alameda Sangha has welcomed new members who are deaf, and their interpreters.  Beginning 2 weeks from this Sunday, Judi will be offering a way to bring the sangha more together:

It's official, Sangha Members! The first ASL class will be offered on Sunday, August 3, from 6:00 to 6:45pm. I'm looking forward to narrowing the communication gap between the hearing and deaf members.

With Metta, Judi
